That’s not so easy. In fact, it’s downright difficult, mostly because the NFL wasn’t about passing in that era. It was all about running the ball and playing defense.
Nevertheless, NFL historian Chris Willis of Pro Football Journal – a guy who heads the Research Library at NFL Films – put together a list of the NFL’s top wide receivers prior to World War II, and they’re here for your perusal.
