The Houston Texans Attend WR Preston Williams and Colorado State's Pro Day

Houston Texans attend Colorado State's Pro Day, headlined by wide receiver Preston Williams.

The Houston Texans are now heading into one of the most important stretches heading to the NFL Drat, the Pro Day Circuit. Like all NFL teams, after getting a chance to meet with draft prospects at post season college all-star games and the NFL Combine the next phase takes off.

The Texans sent scouts to take in Colorado State’s Pro Day in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Teams watched quarterback K.J. Carta-Samuels and wide receiver Olabisi Johnson and Preston Williams and running backs Izzy Matthews run routes. Also, linebackers Tre Thomas and Josh Watson went through individual drills for scouts to get a better look.

Williams is an intriguing prospect that many felt could be a day two selection but he had a tough day running a 4.55 forty-yard dash and only jumping 31.5 inches in the vertical and 9-foot-8-inches in the broad jump. Many have thought that Williams was a potential first round selection but after his testing, that appears not to be the case moving forward.

In 2018 for the Rams, Williams had 96 receptions for 1,345 yards and 14 touchdowns.

"I think I did pretty good. I came out here to do my best. I felt really comfortable. It felt good to be back here too. I felt like I did what I needed to do,” Williams said of his work during his Pro Day.

Williams continued, "Any team that will take a chance on be I'd be glad. I'm going to give them my best efforts. (They will get a) great football player and an even better person.”

Linebacker Josh Watson had a strong showing at the pro day according to those in attendance.
