Three-Headed Monster? Texans Activate D'Onta Foreman from the Reserve/PUP

The Houston Texans Activate D'Onta Foreman from the Reserve/PUP and add him to the 53-man roster.

Houston- The Houston Texans have activated running back D’Onta Foreman from the Reserve/PUP list and activating him to the 53-man roster. Foreman has been absent from the team due to an achilles injuries he suffered last season that caused him to miss the start of the season. Foreman has been working out with the team the past two weeks after the Texans activated the 21-day window on him to find out where he is.

The Texans will add him to a running game that has been successful over the past month led by Lamar Miller and Alfred Blue who have paced the rushing attack. The Texans currently rank 3rd in the NFL in yards per game with 140.8. The addition of Foreman could boost the offense and give them the three-headed monster at the position

Running back coach Danny Barrett discussed during the bye week.

“I think it’s a combination of things,” Barrett said of Foreman. “For his size, he has good speed. I think he runs with great pad level as well, which is always leaning forward – falling forward I should say. It complements what we do on offense with the other two guys as well. Right now, we’ve got the one-two punch and hopefully he gets back and we get a three-headed monster.”

Head Coach Bill O’Brien wants to see Foreman on the field and see what he could do as a player.

"It is not his fault, I am not saying that it is his fault," O'Brien said of Foreman's injury situation. "I'm just saying has not done one thing relative to contact or anything. We have to do what is best for him number 1. What is best for the player and then what is best for the team, relative to where he is at."

The Texans have received their answer and now will put Foreman back into the offensive mix.

Foreman was selected in the 3rd round of the 2017 NFL Draft from the University of Texas. The former Doak Walker award winner rushed for 327 yards on 78 carries with 2 rushing touchdowns. He also had 6 receptions for 83 yards before tearing his achilles on a touchdown run.
