Texas football: Program's 'buy-in' level at all-time high

Texas Longhorns head coach Tom Herman is happy with his players' attitude through early part of camp

Texas head coach Tom Herman took over a Longhorn program in need of a complete cultural overhaul in 2016.

Through two years the Texas coaching staff has gone through the process of slowly weeding out many of the problems that led to the down period the program experienced through the the early part of the decade and now in year three, Herman believes he is seeing the progress of that process.

Herman told reporters that the level of buy-in was better than the previous two years and players are holding each other accountable.

This is certainly good news for Texas fans who have been waiting a decade since the Longhorns last won a conference championship. They enter the season ranked No. 10 in the coaches' poll and are expected to challenge the Oklahoma Sooners for Big 12 supremacy this season.
