Texas got a big commitment on Sunday when Dallas Skyline receiver QuayDarius Davis made his verbal pledge to the Horns.
Davis is a 6-foot, 190-pound speedster is one of the best vertical threat receivers in the 2021 class. Strong enough to get off the line against the press and highly competitive in 50-50 ball situations, Davis will fit in well with Tom Herman’s scheme and should add some firepower to the offense once he arrives on the 40 acres. He could play in either the slot or on the outside.
QuayDarius Davis chose the Longhorns over offers from Alabama, Oregon, LSU, Florida and Texas A&M. He was previously committed to SMU, but backed out of that decision as offers began to increase from blue blood programs.
Davis is the first Texas commitment for the 2021 class and comes just a few days after 2020 quarterback Ja’Quinden Jackson (Duncanville) pledged to the team.
