THE REWIND: Red Raiders' battling through string of painful losses

Texas Tech travels to play Kansas State at 2:30 on Saturday.

It's been a frustrating few weeks for the Texas Tech football team.

The Red Raiders reached a high-water mark of 5-2 after a victory over Kansas, but for the fifth-straight season they followed a win over the Jayhawks with three-straight losses.

On Saturday night, Texas ducked the Red Raiders' fourth-quarter comeback when QB Sam Ehlinger threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Lil'Jordan Humphrey. Now Texas Tech has to try to pick itself up again and travel to Kansas State.

Broderick Washington and Travis Bruffy spoke to the media on Saturday afternoon, along with head coach Kliff Kingsbury. Washington said he has to take the feeling that the losses are eating him up and put it aside and go back to work. Bruffy said the vibe in the locker room is motivated. He said the Red Raiders want to show who they are as a football team these last two weeks.

But Texas Tech will face a couple of difficult challenges as it will play two other motivated teams. Kansas State and Baylor, the Red Raiders' final two opponents, both have a chance to get bowl-eligible and notch winning seasons down the stretch, much like the Red Raiders.
