The Tennessee Titans won't have starting linebacker Wesley Woodyard when they face the Buffalo Bills on Sunday. Woodyard did not practice all week due to a shoulder injury suffered last week against Philadelphia. Woodyard, a defensive captain for the Titans, has been an every-down linebacker in the Titans scheme.
The Titans are likely to use some combination of Jayon Brown, Rashaan Evans and Will Compton as the interior linebackers against the Bills with Woodyard not making the trip with the club.
“You're missing a captain. He's kind of like our Lorenzo Alexander, a guy that was not a household name, but 12 years later has had a really good career,” Titans coach Mike Vrabel said of Woodyard and referencing the Bills' veteran linebacker.
Safety Kenny Vaccaro is also out, as he suffered a dislocated right elbow against the Eagles last week and Vrabel said Monday that he would miss “a few weeks.”
Backup tackle Dennis Kelly practice for the second straight day for the Titans as he recovers from an illness that has kept him out since week two.
