It has been a challenging two decades for the Buffalo Bills, having advanced to the post-season just once. Could that be changing? Some seem to think throw.

With an improved roster with recent draft picks, and willingness to make a step forward along with free agents strengthening target spots, the Bills are one of four teams that Touchdown Wire picked as “real AFC sleeper teams” for this upcoming season. Sleeper status has traditionally referred to teams who have an outside chance of succeeding at a high level.

Touchhdown Wire wrote:

The Bills had a secretly great offseason by making some great value signings in free agency. Their defense has been good for two seasons now. They are well coached. Anyone who likes deep passes has to be having a fever dream when they picture Josh Allen to John Brown passes. Some team has to step up to challenge the Patriots and if it isn’t the Jets, it could be the Bills.

Furthermore, if players such as LeSean McCoy and Frank Gore reignite the their careers and some of their modestly signed free agents play a pivotal role in the offense’s revival, then Buffalo’s has a chance at making another run at a Wild Card spot.

The Bills are still chock full of players who are not household names among the league. A big 2019 season could help these players get on the league’s radar while seeing the Bills shed their sleeper label.
