The Wyoming Cowgirl golf team will make a trip to Springville, Utah this week to open up the 2019-20 season at the Hobble Creek Fall Classic.
“It has been a great, productive summer for the Cowgirls but I know they are excited to get back out there as a team,” head coach Josey Stender said. “The schedule this fall will bring a new set of competitive tournament experiences, starting with Hobble Creek in Utah. We are also coming off a tremendous training and team building weekend led by a solid returning core group. They have established a positive, competitive team culture and the newcomers seem to be transitioning well.”
The tournament runs Monday through Tuesday and is set to be played at the par-71, 6,135-yard Hobble Creek Golf Course. The Cowgirls will tee off at the event on Monday 8:25 and 8:36 a.m. MT.
Along with the Cowgirls, the 17-team tournament field features Utah Valley, Boise State, Cal Poly, Cal State Fullerton, California Baptist, Hawai’i, Incarnate Word, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Sam Houston State, Santa Clara, Southern Utah, UT Rio Grande Valley, Weber State, Wyoming and 16 individuals.
Wyoming will bring Cowgirls Erin Sargent, Caitlyn Skavdahl, Cristiana Ciasca, Samantha Hui and Michelle Nguyen to compete at the event for the Pokes. Morgan Ryan and Jessica Zapf will compete as individuals.
